18 U.S.C. 2257 exemption statement
Last reviewed 2026-08-25
All content on BestGirlfriends is exempt from the record-keeping requirements of 18 U.S.C. 2257 and 28 C.F.R. Part 75.
Why
Those requirements apply to producers of actual sexually explicit conduct. BestGirlfriends produces none. This site consists entirely of written text and hyperlinks. It contains no photographs, no video, no audio, no illustrations of any person, and no user-uploaded material of any kind. It operates no chat, no camera feed and no upload facility.
Under 28 C.F.R. 75.1(c)(4), a site that provides only a means of accessing material produced by others, without selecting or altering it, is not a producer of that material. Linking to a site is not producing what that site publishes.
Where the records are
Any material you reach by following a link from this site is produced, hosted and published by the operator of that site. Each of them is responsible for its own compliance and each publishes its own 2257 statement naming its own custodian of records. If you need those records, they are held by that operator, at the address given in that operator's statement, and not by us.
Age of performers
BestGirlfriends will not list any site that permits, tolerates or fails to remove material depicting minors, whether photographed or generated. This is not a policy that gets balanced against anything else. A credible report is enough for immediate removal from the directory, and the removal is published in the removed list on the homepage with the date.
The same applies to non-consensual material and to sexual depictions of real, identifiable people produced without their agreement.
Reporting
To report a listed site for any of the above, write to [email protected] with the subject line urgent. In the United States, suspected child sexual abuse material should also be reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at report.cybertip.org, which is the body legally empowered to act on it.
